Today is the first day of my 2-week leave from work. Its actually what my colleagues and I call the “forced leave” because we had some days carried over from 2008 that we wanted to keep for our summer vacation in 2009.. but then this new policy came out that we have to clear our 2008 leave balance before the end of March or else it will be deleted :s so yeah.. no hope for having a longer summer, but ah well! Im on a spring break of my own.
a snapshot in the car on our way to dxb featuring my celebratory classic flap!
A few days back we planned a little 3-day trip to Dubai. It was actually the first time that I go to Dubai and not buy a single thing!! Shocking? I know! I cant even believe my own self lol!
On our first day we made a random stop at the Dubai Marina Mall.. that was not such a good idea cuz most of the stores had “opening soon” signs anyway, but I was so excited to see Juicy Couture! It was the cuuutest store ever! With all its little charms, tracksuits, & panties in tiny cupcake cups! so adorable!
Then we headed to The Walk at JBR.. that wasnt such a good idea either because we were 2 families and our movement was extremely slow. I think places like The Walk and Dubai Marina need a small group of people, with NO BABIES and GRANDMAS! lol.. it would have probably been much more fun if I had gone with my sister and cousins only *rolls eyes*
But the next day was better. We got to visit the Dubai Mall for the first time and I finally had my Taco Bell fix =9 that was the only reason I insisted on going to the Dubai Mall in the first place. We walked and walked for houuurrrs and there was still much to discover. The place was great though the timing was bad.. I was just not in the mood for shopping although the stores there were all my favorites.. I mean, they had Sephora! Oh and the Forever 21 store is GIGANTIC! its like 10x the one at the Marina Mall >_<;
At the end of the day the girls and I sat for a treat at Shakespeare & Co. Again, too adorable! The place had quotes of Shakespeare's plays and names of his stories all painted very nicely on the walls. And I absolutely loved the seating!
So colorful and purrrdy!
yummiest chocolate & banana waffles! mmm!

So anyways, I’ll be making another trip to Dubai this week. But not for pleasure – its a dentist appointment =/ I will try to convince my father to let me pass by Mazaya Center on our way back because I saw this awesome segment on Out & About (One TV) about a store there called “Reem’s Closet”. Its actually the first of its kind in the UAE. A consignment store that sells vintage designer items like handbags, dresses, etc… I cant wait to see what they have! The lady on TV said she once had someone bring in a brand-new-with-tags Dior dress. I’d lovvvve to know more on their consignment policies as I might consign some of my bags.
Like everyone else, I’ve done my spring cleaning too. I took out tons of clothes, and then decided that my handbags collection needed an update as well. So I took out all of the older, rarely used bags that I had and sold/consigned them online. I know it would be much less of a hassle if I could consign through an actual store so I’ll wait and see how they work. You can read more about Reem’s Closet here. No, Im not getting any comission for this LOL! Im just sharing the love.
My biggest highlight is yet to come: I finished my training program at work! yup, 300% DONE! It feels like a LOAD off my shoulders. I can now finally be integrated and not be called a developee anymore. It makes it much more easier for me to concentrate on my masters. That is why I call my new Chanel in the first picture The Celebratory Flap hehe.. cuz I got it as a gift to ME for being able to finish my training program in exactly 15 months, which is a record breaking time since it is supposed to take 2 years.
My name is eNory and I spoil myself ;)
