I am back from my first ever training course! If anyone has been wondering where I disappeared, I was in Dubai for a 5-day Human Resources Policies & Procedures course at the Crowne Plaza. I look at my certificate and feel so accomplished! lol.. and I am very proud of myself for going there on my own. It feels great being independent and doing everything by yourself – even though it gets tough at times! The course itself was very interesting and light. We’d start at 8:30 and finish by 1:30, go to lunch at the hotel’s restaurant, take a 15 minute break and run with the girls to catch a cab to the nearest malls LoL! It was so much fun and I already signed up for another course next month on the 15th ;D haha

The girls & I having shopping-break at Biella’s in Mall of the Emirates.. that was my first Pina Colada & guess what? its not so bad at all.. I actually liked it!

My only concern was the hotel. It was real old! But the thing I liked about it was that it is connected to a little mall and had McDonald’s, Friday’s, Chilli’s and Starbucks all around it :) It was so easy for me to run down to the ground floor and grab some takeout to my room for dinner! Fortunately it also had a pharmacy, which helped a LOT because on my third day I had a very bad tummy ache. But of course you cant have everything go your way, right? On the fourth day, my friend and I got very late at the mall and we were running around like crazy trying to find a cab that would take us back to the hotel. It was, as Shoosh said, a mission impossible! Picture this: our shoes were killing us, we were carrying like 10 bags each, and we were exhausted >_< ugh.. At first we waited outside for like half an hour to catch a cab but they wont stop for us! then a security guard told us that cabs werent allowed to stop at this area because its illegal and that they're only supposed to stop at the taxi queue spots inside the mall. Okaaay! so we huff and puff and literally drag ourselves to the nearest queue.. and oh-my-god.. our jaws dropped at how long the waiting line was! there was no way we were gonna wait cuz that'd take us HOURS to get a turn!! So my friend suggested that we try to get a cab from a near hotel's reception.. at that point I was almost dying for someone to carry me lol.. and to make everything even worse: one of my shopping bags got torn and my stuff fell out and I had to carry it all in my hands *dies* When we got to the reception, we begged the security guard to stop a cab for us.. it was such a relief to finally have somewhere to SIT! LOL.. now that I remember it, its kinda funny! but at that time it was not at ALL!! .. anyways, I got back to the hotel only to discover that a water pipe was broken on the 6th floor (i was on the 12th) and there would be no water until 10:30 PM.. AAAAAHHHHHH!! x_X

To pass the time and release my stress, I went and got myself a french manicure at the nail salon in the little mall connected to the hotel. *phew* the best therapy! lol

Anyways, the water was back eventually. Im not making it sound too disasterous am I? haha.. On a brighter note: I went CRAZY with the shopping! my friend and I were the ultimate shopping freaks while we were there. Im so glad shes a fast shopper like I am. I hate taking more than 30 minutes in one store and she’s just like that. Which gave us enough time to actually go to two malls on the same day LoL! & the biggest huuuuuugest high of the trip is that I crossed one item off my wishlist :D Im a Balenciaga virgin no moooore YAAAY!

Due to the many requests to increase the font size, I fixed up the code and made the text size a little bigger. I hope everyone can read better now! I dunno why I like tiny text for layout aesthetics but my guest’s eyes are more important lol..

What do you get someone who: does not wear makeup, does not accessorize, does not care for watches, only wants flat thongs for shoes *no offense to those who like them* and the only handbag she ever carries is a cellphone holder? talk about people who are extremely hard to shop for!! Im saying this because last week we threw a mini farewell party to one of our trainees who was in our division for a 3-month attachment. We had already decided that we would bring some nice flowers and a cake, and that we’d all chip in for a fancy gift for her to remember us by. But deciding on the gift was so difficult! We were brainstorming for daaays to come up with something.. now its very easy to go and get a gift but you’d want the other person to be happy with it and actually use it, right?.. In the end we decided to get a ring although she had mentioned earlier (while we were secretly trying to get her to TALK more about what she’d like!) that ever since she lost a diamond ring a while back she decided not to wear jewellery again o_O.. anyways, Emmy & I took her out for some donuts & coffee while the other girls went to get the gift and prepare the conference room for the party ;D so while we were there we went into Claire’s cuz Emmy wanted to get some stuff for her little sister.. and finally she said “I like leather bracelets”.. BINGO! there it was! LOL.. I immediately thought of the Louis Vuitton Koala Bracelets! So I ran up to Emmy and told her but unfortunately by that time it was too late and the other girls have already picked up a gold watch for her >_<; ah wells!

The party turned out great though.. she was very touched and happy with everything, and thats what matters. So how was everyone’s weekend? better than mine I hope. The only place I went to was my office! lol.. I had to go there to print out my revision papers because I got an assessment next week. When I arrived at the building the security officer was looking at me and *head shake* “friday.. no?” LOL.. he must’ve thought that I got hit in the head. I said yesss I know its holiday but I forgot something ;P I printed my papers and forgot to put the printer back on power-saver mode..

I decided I needed some change. Im so very fickle! With every new design I have this different direction of where I want this site to head. Last time I wanted it to be so comprehensive with many sections and actual content. This time I just wanted to be the blog and nothing else. There are still a lot of things that are under construction, like *hint hint* the boudoir section ;D That one’s gonna be good! Im also bringing back the tagboard and a couple of other things. No emails for now though, sorry! I’ve been getting loads of annoying spam.

I picked up my graduation dress last week from the designer aaand it is beyond gorgeousSsSss! It exceeded my wildest expectations!! I got back home and ran up to my room to try it on with a tiara and awww’h *sigh* it was very princessy (and bride-y lol).. Its such a waste that most of the upper part of the dress wont show under the graduation robe gown or whatever. Im sooo secretly wishing I could get away with wearing the tiara to the ceremony!! =P which by the way has been postponned. We receieved urgent phone calls and emails from ZU saying that it has been postponned to an unknown date.. and that they’ll let us know as soon as they have the re-scheduled date set. OH DARN!!#@#%%^ I just remembered I should have went to pick up one more invitation card >_< uggghhh.. I hope theres still some left!!

Work is hectic as usual.. but I did get an approval for a raise! just a little 5% because I've been doing super well on my training program. Today was a fun day though because my colleague (lets call her emmy, *tehe*) and I's bosses/supervisors are all off and so we sneaked out to Baskin Robbins for some brownie sundaesss mmmm =9~ so yummy specially after walking in the sun all the way there >_< Emmy and I are like the "dynamic duo" of the company.. we always do everything together that you'll never see one of us without the other =) we graduated together, got hired together, and now we're being promoted together! She and I sneaked out to watch a movie the other day called "College Road Trip" haha its probably intended for a much younger audience but we had loads of fun and we were thinking of doing the silly dance that Raven and her friends did when she got accepted at university for when we get promoted.. but I talked her out of it LOL

Also about work, I have another course in dxb in two weeks. This time its not as glamorous as Mina Al Salam though LoL.. Im still nagging on my family to let me take my cousin with meee! OMG I get so excited just thinking of how much fun that would be.. both of us hanging around in dxb *squeeeeeeeel* fun fun times!

More good news, 3 of my family members are pregos! all at one time mashallah.. prego-virus LOL so by January we’re gonna have triple baby noises =D aint that sweet?

one of the advantages of having your dentist in dxb is that you get to go shopping after your appointments lol.. i stopped by mazaya center and grabbed some more delicious Philosophy stuff.. this time its Raspberry Sorbet 3-in-1 and Coconut Milk scrub.. Coconut-anything always reminds me of my cousin and I tanning because our tanning oils smelled like that =) oooh I also got some bed head stuff for my hair and CAN NOT wait to try those out!

got one thing crossed off my to-buy list: coco mademoiselle hair mist. It smells heavenly! I cant help sniffing my hair all the time lol..
